Timo Weiland – I could not be “MO” proud!

16 Sep

I would like to brag a little bit on a friend of mine, Timo Weiland.  He and his business partner, Alan Eckstein had their very first runway show in Lincoln Center.  What an amazing achievement!  They have been showing presentation style for several seasons – but they decided to step up their game this fashion week – and they did it with a bang!

I met Timo several years ago, when his collection was more accessory based (think fabulous neckwear) through my two best friends, Mary Kay Bowden and Kim Willson.  They were classmates together at Vanderbilt.  Within two seconds of meeting Timo, anyone can see that his creative flare is off the charts.  His website alone will take you on a fantastic journey – definitely check it out! www.timoweiland.com

Here are my favorite looks from his Spring 2012 collection:

I love the idea of a romper with a matching jacket - it's a jumpsuit squared. Get it? (Jumpsuit suit). I know...pretty lame pun, but sometimes I just can't help myself. And - the necklace is a must!

Timo's styling of this look is a little sportier than I tend to wear - but I really like the two separates. I would probably girly it up a bit with a bunch bangles and a big blonde hairdo!

I personally don't have the tummy for this one - but for anyone who does...this should be on your Spring 2012 wish list.

This color is so on trend. Seen on almost every runway. I think this particular dress can be very versatile. If worn with simple accessories and classic peep toes, it could read ladylike and girly - but if styled with other colors in the neon family, it could create an edgy/fun vibe. Throw a cardigan on with it for a luncheon or a cropped leather jacket and booties for a night on the town.

Seriously, Timo…I could not be “MO” proud.

Day 2: Mercedes Benz Fashion Week 2012RTW

9 Sep

There were too many fun looks for me to only select one designer today…so I have selected three.  First up is Jason Wu.  I was lucky enough to attend one of Jason’s very first shows – well before he was sky rocketed into fame after designing Michelle Obama’s Inaugural Ball Gown.  Here are a few of my favorite looks from his show today.

Very Barbie. Very Elle Woods. Very Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. So of course I love it!

This color isn't always easy to wear - but I am envisioning it on summer sun-kissed skin at an outdoor evening soirée.

Three words. I want it.

Peter Som also wowed me with a few looks.  I am just so excited to see all the color.  Happy Days are here again!

I love the combo of the sheer top paired with the heavier layers of feathers at the bottom.

Darling zebra bandeau top with vintage style bikini bottoms. I seriously need this for Mozambique!

This color is making its presence known on the runways this season - and I love it!

It's obviously loud but I think it could be great for a fun and celebratory daytime luncheon or birthday party.

Flapper Barbie! Yay!

Finally – a few looks from Luca Luca stood out to me.  Luca Luca was actually the first show I ever attended in THE TENT…so it holds a special place for me.

I love the not-so-perfect style of these polka dots. Fun and chic.

Shoulders are a wonderful body part to feature as it flatters a variety of body types. I think this dress is both sexy and classy.

I love the cape-like sleeves. This look makes me want to hop on the next flight to the Amalfi Coast.
