Great Gatsby Glam at Marchesa

17 Sep

I just uploaded The Great Gatsby to my iPad.  Of course, I have already read it, but it was  years ago… in high school.  I loved it then – but I think I am going to love it even more now, as an adult.  In fact, I have planned a Great Gatsby themed party here in Beijing for Brett’s 40th on 11/11/11.  Fantastic flapper here we come!

Marchesa has given me a plethora of ideas.  Here are my favorites…

The movement in this fringe is so lovely. It makes me want to Charleston the night away!

This look is almost like an Hervé Leger will a topical treatment of fringe. I think it works.

Feathers. Feathers. Feathers. I think Daisy would approve.

Marchesa definitely added their own touch to this look. The embroidery on the bodice is almost tattoo'esque'. I think the sleeves are beautiful.

Definitely Daisy. Myrtle might even get on board for a chic look like this...

This is THE dress I want for B's b-day party. Although, I would style it a bit differently. I think a finger wave hair style pinned up to look like a bob would be fantastic, and I would also add a short glove and some pearls to give it that extra touch of costume.

    Hey Morgie,
Happy birthday I guess a day late for you but not for me. I will have your mother put your gift in your bank account this week while I am down there. Hope you had a good one.
