What the F [ashion]???

12 Sep

Obviously, I have already pre-ordered this for Brett.  Ladies, I suggest you do the same for the man-in-your-life.  I have a sneaky suspicion this look is going to sell like hot cakes.

What man doesn’t need a multi-color sequins top with abstract polka dots and a matching banana hammock? According to Libertine – this is a must have for Spring 2012.

I am dying to know what other ladies (and gents) think of this look.  Please do share with me!

I need a Gala, and I need it NOW!

12 Sep

Thank you, Zac Posen for reminding me (with gorgeous gown after gorgeous gown) that my life absolutely does not require the number of gowns that I would like for it to.

These dresses are to die for!  Not really…I only use that in the very superficial fashion way.

These dresses are works of art – but they have nothing on my family, friends, and loved ones.  I am so grateful (at this time in particular) to be an American and to love and be loved by the most amazing people in the entire world.

God Bless the USA!

125 Years of Bvlgari

12 Sep

By the time Bulgari actually celebrated its 125 Years of Italian Magnificence here in China – it was already time for the 127th year celebration.  Not that anyone is holding it against them.  I am just assuming they took the slow boat.

Bulgari’s Heritage exhibition has been traveling around the globe for over two years now with stops in Rome and Paris – among others.  Lucky for us, it recently settled in at the National Museum of China in Beijing.  So on September 4, 2011 – Beijings’ “fancies” came out on the town to toast to the jewels (with Moët of course).

Brett and I hosted a little champagne and make-up pre-party.  He is such a good sport!

Just like everything in China – there is a VIP entrance and then there is a VVIP entrance. My thought process is why not try for the VVIP? So, with all the confidence I could muster up, I walked right up to very important red carpet  – only to be immediately stopped by the man with “the list”. Ouch. I wasn’t prepared to give up just yet.  So, I simply stated that I am “The Blonde in Beijing, and I am meant to walk this carpet”.  (Whatever that means…) Then, with the help of my blonde fro – photographers began to take notice and left their posts to photograph us.  Apparently, this was the only proof needed by the “list keeper” and the velvet rope was lifted for us.

Giving Brett a kiss to say thank you for always putting up with my shenanigans. Truth be told - I know deep down he loves them! I mean just look at his shoes...

My interview with MTV China. They asked me to describe my look for the evening in great detail. It will air on September 23rd!!

You Had Me at Parasol

12 Sep

Is there anything more ladylike and feminine than a parasol?  I think not.  Apparently Tracy Reece agrees.  Check out a few looks from her Spring 2012 RTW Collection  – complete with coordinating parasols.

Perfect for a stroll down the beach.

I love the vintage look of this suit and coordinating cap.

This look takes me back in time.

Elegant and Chic. It makes me think of Coco during her Deauville years.

Not my favorite print by any means..but I just love the concept of a matching parasol.

I love this look. I realize that it is not overly practical (or practical at all) - but wouldn't it make for a stunning swimsuit cover-up on vacation. Perhaps I just have honeymoon clothes on the brain...but I think this could be "trousseau terrific"!
